How to Tighten Your Wag Trendz® No Pull Handle Harness

When your Wag Trendz dog harness feels too loose, these steps will help you achieve a snug, balanced fit every time.

1. Wrap a soft tape (or string) around:

  • Just above the shoulders (where the neck strap sits)

  • Around the widest part of the chest (where the chest strap sits) just behind their front legs.

Compare those numbers to your harness straps to determine how much to shorten.

2. Balance Your Adjustments

  • Split any tightening evenly between left and right sides - both on the neck strap and, if needed, the chest strap.

  • Uneven adjustments will cause the harness to sit crooked.

3. Tighten the Non‑Buckle Neck Strap

Step 1:  Locate the side opposite the buckle.

Step 2:  With your left hand, grasp the adjuster (slider).

Step 3:  With your right hand, hold the top strap to the right of the slider.

Step 4:  Slide the adjuster toward the backside or handle side of the harness (or toward your dog’s shoulders).

Step 5:  Pull any slack through the built‑in loop beneath the rubber logo tag.

Step 6:  Stop once you’ve moved it about half the distance you need - so you can mirror this on the buckle side.

4. Tighten the Buckle‑Side Neck Strap

Step 1:  Unbuckle the neck side of harness.

Step 2:  Ease the strap out of the stretchy strap holder so the slider isn’t obstructed.

Step 3:  Hold the slider with your left hand.

Step 4:  Pull the lower strap material toward the right or the buckle end while holding the slider steady.

Step 5:  Re‑buckle and tuck the strap back into its keeper.

5. (If Needed) Tweak the Chest Strap

Repeat Step 4 above on both sides of the chest strap, again dividing the total adjustment equally.

6. Perform a Final Fit Check

Step 1:  Put the harness back on your dog.

Step 2:  Use the two‑finger test: you should be able to slip two fingers under each strap comfortably.

      • If it’s still too loose, tighten both sides in small increments.

      • If it’s too tight, loosen evenly until you can just fit two fingers beneath.
